Hauling

The guys are busy hauling grain, hay and straw. We always get the question “What do farmers do all winter?”. Our guys seem to stay busy all winter. They always have a variety of jobs going, from snow plowing to hauling commodities to maintenance to planter/combine clinics.

Day 2 – National Farm Show

The guys are having a great time. They arrived down in Louisville about 7pm last night. They went out to dinner and a bar, then back to the room for some and the others went out. This morning they hit the show. Kevin has not been to Louisville for a few years and he said it’s 100% larger than it was the last time. Tonight they will be going to the tractor pull. Our photographer Nick has been sending me pictures to put on the website, thanks Nick.

Moline & National Farm Machinery Show

The day started early for some of our employees today. They headed to Moline to watch the new planter being built and then off to the National Farm and Machinery Show in Louisville Kentucky. An exciting event for those farm boys. They will have their hands full as they tend to a handicap. Kevin was helping out with Abby’s volleyball team and sprained his anke. He’s been on crutches since Sunday. If you happen go to the show and see someone zooming around in a scooter, it’s probably Kevin.

Here is a few pictures from today

Corn/Soy Conference 2012

All of our employees and their families joined us at the corn/soy conference this last week up in Wisconsin Dells. We had a great time. Kevin, Matt & Todd spent some time in the meetings during the day and then pizza for the kids and out to High Rock Cafe for dinner for the adults. Dinner was wonderful, highly recommend High Rock, a big thanks to Tracey for the
recommendation. <

Nick spent a little time with Mr. Gabe showing him how the big boys play in the water.

Verona High School visits Klondike Farms

One of the classes of Verona High School came out to see our grain facility. Kevin talked about the operation of the facility, how the grain is dried, stored, sold and delivered. They also had a chance to look around and weigh themselves on the scale.

City Slickers

Two city slickers ( my nephews ) came to stay with us while mom and dad packed up all their belongs to venture to their newly built home. First combine ride for both. Gabe was showing them the ropes, how it all worked. They were amazed. I’m sure it won’t be the last combine ride for them.
